Celebrate our Local Heritage! Join us for "Dinner In the Garden"

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7TH, 5-8pm at Rocky Mountain Garlic, Salida, CO

Gather in the Garden at Rocky Mountain Garlic for an evening of celebration! The evening will feature a menu curated solely from ingredients available in our South Central Colorado region by chef Eddie Sandoval with the theme “Legacy Foods of the West”. This will be a tribute to the hardworking hands that provide food to our area.

Dinner will be served family style with dishes for all to share and enjoy. Let’s break bread from Tumbleweed Bakery, from Monte Vista, and learn more about where our local food sources from! The menu will include greens from Elevation Farm & Orchard in Alamosa as well as plenty of produce from the Rocky Mountain Garlic greenhouse in Salida; a vegetarian quinoa dish sourced from Mosca; mushrooms from Alpine Valley Mushrooms in Saguache, and several creative main dishes such as Braised Pork Shoulder with sauteed Chard and Kale, Rosemary Crusted Beef Roast with Rhubarb Gastrique, and Pork and Beef Meatballs with Rhubarb BBQ, all from the high pastures of Badger Creek Ranch. Finish the meal with delicious rhubarb ginger sorbet and a salted rye shortbread cookie! This is what "eating locally and in-season" means!

This is a sit down dinner with elegant table settings and includes Colorado wine from the West Elks AVA, Paonia, to complement each course. Non Alcoholic beverages are also available, from Dram Apothecary in Salida.

Tiffany Collette of Rocky Mountain Garlic will offer a presentation and tour of her farm and greenhouse.

The majority of the ticket proceeds will go to the SOIL Revolving Loan Fund supporting all of these producers with 0% interest loans to help them grow their businesses. Please consider supporting these dedicated community members who are doing so much to increase our food security in this area. They each have an inspiring story to tell!
